Forgive me Father, for I have sinned; I do not own a television.

I proudly do not own a television, and see no reason to get one. I don't have a Xbox, Playstation, or any other game console (PC gaming FTW). I don't care for any TV show, and I get the news by listening to the radio when driving to and from work. When I drive 150 miles back to my parent's place, I sometimes find myself in front of a TV. When I am, I can think of a few other things that I could be doing that would be a more satisfactory use of my time.

If I want to watch a movie, I appropriate one of my PC's two 24" monitors. A recent Flash Player update makes dual monitor viewing much less of a hassle. Previous versions unless hacked, if you had something full screen in one monitor, doing something on the other would immediately un-fullscreen it.

For dinner, I often watch stuff on The Escapist, Penny Arcade, LoadingReadyRun, or some Monty Python. I then get back to my regularly scheduled life, usually playing a video game, reading some web article, or coding for fun. I've been wanting to clean my apartment for months, but never been too bothered to do it.

I started watching less TV in 2005, when I got a "real job" (as opposed to seasonal, more on jobs later). I usually worked the dinner/closing shift, so watching the evening news and "primetime" (whatever that is) was out of the question. When it came to midnight or so, I was so tired or pissed off that I just wanted to go to bed. I didn't have access to a TV during college, not that I cared, I had assignments to do! Then when I got a... more real job with real money, I didn't see a reason to change a good thing. Still don't.

That said, I do have a USB TV tuner that receives over the air HD signals. I bust it out during the Sup- errr, uhhh, that really big football thing after New Year's.
