The Eleventh Hour

People often say stuff about the eleventh hour. It usually involves something stressful. It's a time where important perilous decisions are made.

Then they all go to lunch, come back, and leave in the evening.

People often make you think that this happens just before some midnight deadline. Whoever made this idiom and those who keep using it must not realize that the eleventh hour of the day is immediately before noon.

Should it not be "the twenty-third hour"?

But it will all be for naught, as they will all need to be on anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medication for the rest of their lives.
